A Member Services Officer is required by our local authority client for a 6 month temporary booking, to start asap.
The Officer will be charged with ensuring the effective operation of the Council`s Governance functions which will includeproviding support within the Cabinet and Statutory Team in the Member Services Unit.
This post requires a pro-active approach in promoting the work of the Partnership bodies, the ability to liaise with other partners, including the police, health bodies, the voluntary sector and senior councillors, giving advice, undertaking research, organising agendas and preparing reports, briefings and minutes.
You may also be required to work in other areas including provding cover for absence.
The successful applicant will have the following essential skills:
- Experience of clerking local government committees - Knowledge of local government law and administration - Organising agendas, arranging and attending meetings, taking minutes - Drafting reports and review findings to committee deadlines - Intermediate*advanced MS Acess, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint
